Here at Happy Days Childcare we set our standards very high for learning, development and the delivery of good practice. We are registered with OFSTED and have achieved an outstanding rating. Working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is a legal framework covering the first five years of children’s childcare and education. These standards are an important element in the decision making process when you are choosing the best care provider for your child.
We always want to be the best in everything we do and are members of various associations and we are also very proud to invest in our team here at Happy Days Childcare and are an Investors in People Champion and have achieved the Gold Standard.
We don’t aim to just meet OFSTED requirements, we aim to exceed them. Some see OFSTED requirements as the ultimate standard. We see them as the bare minimum, and always strive to go above and beyond. OFSTED carry out regular inspections to ensure we are compliant with their requirements and effectively supporting children through the EYFS and delivering the aims of the framework.
OFSTED Inspection reports can be found on the individual location pages or you can read their reports by clicking the links below.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework is what your child will be working towards.
The EYFS Framework explains how and what your child will be learning to support their healthy development. Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.
Children should mostly develop the 3 prime areas first.
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development.
These prime areas are those most essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning.
As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas.
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
The 7 areas listed above are used to plan your child’s learning and activities. The professionals who are teaching and supporting your child will make sure that the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs and interests. This is a little bit like a curriculum in primary and secondary schools, but it’s suitable for very young children, and it’s designed to be really flexible. Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
We are members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance which is the largest early years membership organisation and voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England.
At Happy Days we believe in investing in our team and we nurture our staff as we nurture our children and we are immensely proud of everyone. We committed to the Investing in People programme which is a management framework for high performance through our people.
Happy Days Childcare is also an ‘Investors in People’ Champion, joining an elite band of companies throughout the UK who are seen as role model organisations.
